Graduated from the University of Toronto (BA, 1960) and The University of Ottawa
(MA 1984, PhD, 1989).
Held academic postings at the Universities of Ottawa and Manitoba (1984-1996).
From 1997 has been on academic staff at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla
Academy (NaUKMA).
Chair of the NaUKMA Volodymyr Morenets Department of Literature (2005-2008,
2021-2024).
