2014-2016: Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine. During his work in this position, progressive Laws “On Higher Education” (2014) and “On Scientific and Scientific-Technical Activities” (2015) were adopted

2015: signed an agreement that allowed Ukrainian scientists and businesses to participate in the European Union’s flagship research program Horizon 2020

2007-2014: President of the National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy”

2005-2010: Chairman of the Consortium for University Autonomy

2002-2006: headed the Media Reform Center, whose activities were aimed at creating favorable conditions for the emergence and development of independent media
